Hey everyone, my name is Thomas and I like gardening. A few months ago i started the website www.irishallotments.net in an effort to bring together as much information as possible about allotments and it has extended a little since!

anyhow i have heard a lot about these forums and experienced or novice seem to get what they need from it so i thought i would pop in and see. Smile

Another project I have on the go at the moment is www.growireland.net

the basic idea is to provide free or very cheap hosting for gardeners, community groups, transition towns, allotments (more or less anything to do with sustainability) and create a huge community and source of information on the subject. One person can not know it all but several hundred certainly have a better chance at covering the subject! Smile

pm me if you have any questions.

Thomas

Hello there thomas and Green Joe 90.
I am in the early stages of creating an Irish allotments and social growing site myself.
Nothing concrete at the moment, but I will give ye a heads up on it when there is something to see.
Nice to see there is a "growing" interest in this aspect of gardening.

Hey, just wondering what you're plans are, maybe we can work together on improving what is already existant. I have been contacted by a group in Dublin that are starting a project to get a website started that will contain as much information as possible in relation to sustainability (including allotments), in the long run that project will need people so you may be interested to join that aswell.

let me know

thanks

Thats excellent. I'm also involved with the Waterford Food Producers Network website currently under construction so I'll be on to you for ideas. One central location would be a great resource with the various regions with their own site.

Keep it up.

GPI any news on your website idea? We are still waiting on the Council to give us the go ahead to get our allotments going. People are starting to propose gorilla tactics. Wait and see. Very Happy
